For those who love the mountains and the sea... your adventure awaits.

THE BEST WAY TO EXPERIENCE THE ISLAND

Maybe you've lived on Kodiak Island your whole life, or maybe you just touched down on the Emerald Isle for the first time.  If there's one thing you don't want to miss out on while here, it's kayaking this beautiful archipelago.  Seated comfortably in our expedition sea kayaks, prepare to see this small, coastal fishing town in a whole new light.

Relax as you take in the mountain vistas rising out of the sea.  Spot bald eagles overhead while harbor seals pop up shyly just a little in front of your bow.  Track through the water with grace and agility, no matter your experience level, easily navigating to hidden beaches that beg to be explored.  Accept our invitation for an adventure.

At Kayak Kodiak, we want to help you immerse yourself in the outdoors.  Let your work and worries float out with the tide as we paddle the protected near-shore waters of Kodiak.  Feel empowered as you grow comfortable and confident steering and guiding your boat around kelp beds and rocky shores.  Fall into the rhythm of paddling, keeping your senses alert for the passing playful sea otter or a snorting sea lion in the distance.

OR

There happens to be a completely BIO-logical explanation for why Kodiak is called the Emerald Island.  And you can boil it down to just one word. RAIN!

In our part of Alaska, we get a lot of rain.  But our island paradise

wouldn't erupt into its brilliant green each summer if it weren't for

this precipitation.  So at Kayak Kodiak, we ask you to do as the locals

do- throw on your rain jacket and a pair of Extratuffs (Alaska's

favorite rain boot) and GET OUTSIDE!!

We know we don't melt, and we're pretty sure you won't either... So let's go paddle!

LET US OUTFIT YOUR KODIAK ADVENTURE

There's nothing quite like experiencing Alaska from the water

AN ALUTIIQ CONNECTION

Living on Kodiak Island, you gain a deep respect for the history of this land and its people.  When we kayak, we experience an intimate association with these ancestors and first inhabitants of the island in a very real way.  Kayaking in Alaska after all, is not a new recreational sport that simply popped up in the 21st century.  Kayaks have a rich history that ties into our sea-surrounded home.  We invite you to feel this native Alaskan connection to the sea by kayaking Kodiak.

LOCAL ISLAND LOVE
